MCEDV and the local member domestic violence programs work closely with the health care setting. There are a number of trainings targeted to different health care audiences.
MCEDV has information on trainings for home health nurses, school nurses, family planning settings, emergency care providers, medical first responders. We will be glad to assist you in setting up trainings for these personnel.
Training for physicians: Member programs, particularly Family Crisis Center, worked with Physicians for Social Responsibility to develop a training on domestic violence for physicians. PSR offers this training in a range of medical practice settings, continuing to collaborate with advocates from the domestic violence service organizations located the geographic area of the training.
