  • Prevention Education and Training

    The Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence and  its member projects are actively involved with Prevention, Education and Training at the statewide and local levels.  Please see the list of options at the left and on the navigation bar at the top of the page.  If you have a training or prevention related topic or need that you require and do not see listed, please be in touch with us.

    School based Training, Prevention and  Education, as well as the larger culture change that will support schools in preventing violence are at the forefront of the collaborative work.

    • School based education: Each project has designed their program to educate and inform youth and adults about the issue of Teen Dating Abuse as well as what is healthy and unhealthy behavior in relationships.outreach and community education.  They work with the local school districts to provide student and teacher education on dating violence, healthy relationships and to provide referral resources for services to victims of dating and/or domestic violence and their families.
    • Policy development:  MCEDV is an active participant in the Legislative Revole  1105 An Act To Establish a Model Dating Violence Prevention Policy which directs a state wide study group to create recommendations for Model Daving Violence Policy.  MCEDV’s role is to provide information that will inform model policy development.
